The thirteenth Helsinki Summer School will be arranged on 7 to 23, August 2012. The new course programme will be published at the beginning of the year 2012.

This year we celebrate and participate in the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 by offering a number of design related courses.

Helsinki Summer School is a three-week academic event organised every August by the universities in Helsinki Metropolitan area. Each year we give advanced degree students from over 60 countries an unforgettable experience that combines high quality academics with a wide range of cultural and social activities. Our multidisciplinary courses, all of which are taught in English, aim at stimulating thought and intellectual development in an open and diverse environment. At Helsinki Summer School, the rich academic, cultural and social resources of this vibrant city all become part of the classroom experience.

This summer we will be offering eighteen fully credited courses covering a wide range of academic fields - from Integrated Marketing Communication to Design and the City and Sustainable Global Technologies to Politics of Nations in Europe Today. All of our courses are designed to challenge and inspire you in any field that holds your interest. In Helsinki, a city known for design, technology and a vibrant cultural life, you’ll discover the perfect environment for studying, making new friends and having fun!

Finland is one of the most research-intensive and academically competitive countries in the world.
