In addition to covering the costs of traveling to and from Finland, students will have to pay for visa and travel insurance, meals and public transportation in Helsinki. Living expenses are approximately 10-20 EUR per day (students may eat lunch at the university cafeterias for around 4-6 EUR). You may also be required to cover photocopying, course material and handout costs.
Your travel expenses in Helsinki will depend on whether or not you need a travel card and whether you will need a local or regional travel card. Public transportation travel cards are valid on buses, trams, the metro, local trains and the Suomenlinna ferry.
